About Beverly Hills Flats
The Beverly Hills Flats consist of the area in the flatlands of Beverly Hills, California, the center of the world’s most prestigious zip code. The Flats generally refers to single family homes located North of Santa Monica, South of Sunset, West of Doheny and East of Whittier.
Properties in the Flats sit on lots that are larger than most other lots in surrounding areas. They average between 11,000-15,000 square feet, with larger lots ranging from 18,000 to 40,000 square feet. There is a mix of old Hollywood, modern architecture, well maintained Colonials and newer construction on each street.
Each street maintains a unique tree. Beverly Drive is famous for its tall and swaying palm trees, while Maple Drive has matching maple trees lined from Santa Monica to Sunset Boulevards. In fact, Beverly Hills has been recognized as Tree City USA by the Arbor Foundation.
Here are some other things you’ll want to know about the Flats:
• Two of the Beverly Hills Unified schools are located in the Flats. El Rodeo is on Whittier Drive and Hawthorn Elementary is on Rexford Drive.
• City Hall, the Beverly Hills Police Department and the Beverly Hills Fire Department are all conveniently located on Rexford Drive, just South of Santa Monica Blvd. The response time for Police and the Fire Department is less than 3 minutes, which provides added safety and security for residents.
• Plenty of residents get their morning exercise by walking or jogging in the flats. But there are several city parks that surround the flats as well. Beverly-Canon Gardens, Beverly Garden Parks and Will Rogers Memorial Park, to name a few.
• Twice each year, the Affaire in the Gardens Art Show is held at the Beverly Gardens Park.
• The Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market is conveniently located just South of the Flats on Civic Drive.
• Residents of the Flats love the area because it’s convenient. Beverly, Rodeo and Canon Drives are full of amazing restaurants with world famous chefs. Whether you’re craving a burger or you’re in the mood for an elegant al fresco dining, there are options for everyone.
• The Flats are also walking distance from some of the most famous Hotels in the world- The Beverly Hilton (on Wilshire and Whittier), Beverly Wilshire (on Wilshire and Rodeo), and Beverly Hills Hotel (near Sunset Blvd. and Canon Drive).
• Shopaholics beware! Rodeo Drive independent boutiques, Saks Fifth Avenue, Barney’s New York and Neiman Marcus are only a stroll away. You can window shop or splurge on that fabulous pair of heels you’ve had your eye on for weeks!
