The Beverly Hills Affaire in the Gardens: Fall 2010
by Tanaz Akhlaghi on October 16, 2010The Beverly Hills Affaire in the Gardens is back! Sponsored by the City of Beverly Hills among others, the art show makes its Fall appearance as 250 incredible artists come together to display their art this weekend on October 16th and 17th in the Beverly Gardens Park.
A crowd comprised of 50,000 local residents, art lovers, art dealers, celebrities and visitors come from all over to attend the show each spring and fall. The artists are there to represent and discuss their original work in primary categories of art such as drawing, ceramics, sculpture, painting, photography and digital art. More than 10 artists will take on live demonstrations through the weekend, including large scale portrait production in various media; from stone, to cardboard to metal screws, jewelry making and portrait painting from live models.
An Affaire just isn’t the same without music and dining. Latin music, live jazz and traditional band sounds, while the Wine & Fine Ale Garden will feature produce from California including the organically grown wines of Fitzpatrick. Two autumn appropriate California beers will also be featured in the garden. Firestone Brewery of Central California and Ballast from Northern California will be served. Brian Lenzo of Hollywood Boulevard’s Blue Palm Brewhouse will be there to talk about the beers and to explain the brewing process.
Hungry for a snack? You can dine on hearty fall appetizers as well as light entrees. The Grilled Cheese Truck will surely have another mile long line around the block on Saturday.
Affaire in the Gardens Art Show covers four blocks along Santa Monica Boulevard from Beverly Drive to Rexford Drive from 10 am to 5 pm. Parking is available at the Civic Center parking structure or any City lot.
I had the opportunity to attend the Affaire in the Gardens in the Spring and I loved it. I look forward to this weekend and to meeting all the amazing artists and their creations.
Have you attended any previous shows? Do you have a favorite artist that will be presenting? Please share your thoughts. I always enjoy hearing from you!
