I’m usually quite eager to get out of town at the mention of a holiday weekend. This time around, two spectacular events tempted me to stay. Food & Wine’s The Taste of Beverly Hills was born, and the most famous zip code in the world was celebrating a once-in-a-lifetime event on September 2, 2010 which numerically translated to 9.02.10!

The four day long celebration took place in the lot adjacent to the Beverly Hilton. The evening began with red carpet arrivals as Mayor Jimmy Delshad greeted Larry King, Ryan Seacrest, Wendie Malick, the cast of the new Beverly Hills 90210 television series, the Kardashian clan and Bruce Jenner among many others.

Restaurants and wineries flaunted some of their best creations at The Taste of Beverly Hills as the crowd feasted upon signature entrees. Wine and mixology seminars were available to those eager to learn, and some of the country’s most celebrated chefs featured cooking demonstrations.

Grammy nominee Natasha Bedingfield and R&B singer-songwriter Ne-Yo charmed the crowd while spectacular fireworks brought the evening to a close.
